Tim Barling
Tim took up the role of Executive Director after previously serving on the SEN Committee as Secretary for two years. He is also on the board of the Conservation Council of WA, the state's peak environmental group of which SEN is a member, and on the organising committee for the West Australian Geothermal Energy Symposium. Tim has actively followed the climate change debate and renewable energy based solutions since the 1980's and is currently studying postgraduate Energy Studies at Murdoch University. Tim has been member of a number of other boards and committees and has previously undertaken studies relating to medical science, the marine environment and sustainability. |

Steve Gates: Chair
Steve is a Mechanical Engineer with 29 years experience in Research and Development in the offshore, defence, manufacturing and agricultural industries. He currently consults his services and is passionate about using his engineering and project management background to solve problems, particularly those relating to the environment and sustainability, and provides voluntary services to other community organisations. He has been a registered Professional Engineer in California and is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia.

Angus King: Vice Chair
Angus King - B.Sc.(Hons, UWA), MBA (UWA), B.App.Sc (Murdoch, Energy Studies) - has over thirty years experience in information technology, predominantly in software development. Over the last fifteen years he has developed a passion for renewable energy technologies leading to tertiary studies in the field and to being one of the first people to install a grid-connect PV system in WA.

Chris Swain: Secretary
Chris Swain is a graduate of Curtin university (BSc (Medical Science)) and Murdoch (BSc Hons (Biotechnology)). He has a keen interest in rural renewable energy and transport. He works with the tech team and modelling crew as well as supporting the marketing team with information distribution.

Susan Broughton: Treasurer
Susan is a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Responsible Investment Adviser. Her passion is providing consumers of financial advice a way to invest which aligns with their personal values without unnecessary harm towards people, animals or the environment. Susan is a founding Board Member of the Ethical Advisers’ Co-operative and her dream is that her commercial and not for profit work will help contribute to a more sustainable future.

Galen Townson
Galen advocates renewable energy and sustainability for social wellbeing and is founding a social enterprise to catalyse community renewable energy cooperatives. He has 19 years international experience in projects, programs and change, and has volunteered on not-for-profit boards since 1999. Galen holds an Executive MBA in strategic management (UWA) and postgraduate studies in Sustainability (Curtin) and Social Impact (UWA).

Ming Zhuo
Ming is currently studying a degree in Environmental Management at Edith Cowan University as a International student from Shen Zhen, China. He works for a Perth company as an interpreter and volunteers for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition as well as a charity teaching Chinese in primary schools. Ming hopes to use his knowledge of renewable energy to influence his students and others.
